Present began working with Barbuda Ocean Club in early 2019, shortly after Hurricane Irma devastated the island. As part of the original envisioning team, we helped the club cultivate its brand identity and storyline. We also participated in brainstorm sessions to guide operations, amenities and experiences. However, most critical, we helped the club open lines of communication with the local community to build trust, facilitate aid and assist in the island’s restoration.
Barbuda Ocean Club’s initial branding evoked a whimsical, carefree beachy vibe. It’s welcoming playfulness combined with the club’s exceptional service and bespoke experiences easily distinguished it from competitors. Barbuda is a secluded safe haven for families, highlighting its focus on authentic wellbeing and meaningful connections.
Helping potential members understand Barbuda’s geography was a key aspect of this positioning. We created illustrated maps, using a sophisticated, playful style, to provide orientation, highlight key elements of the island and reinforce the club’s brand identity.
Ongoing, Present continues to provide creative services and brand guidance as the club matures with consistent digital and print communications leveraging Barbuda Ocean Club’s early success. Present also is helping the club support local entrepreneurs to further the revitalization of the island.
